1. Be familiar with the features of
the different language types: narration, argument, persuasion,
information and aesthetic. Practise writing in these
different language types as regularly as possible.
2. For the Single Text question on
Paper 2, be prepared to answer questions on plot, themes,
setting and characters.
3. Be familiar with the headings for
the Comparative Study and what they mean. Prepare some
key moments from your chosen texts for the Comparative
Study.
4. Prepare for questions in the Prescribed
Poetry section by focusing on themes, language and your
own response.
5. Identify any weaknesses you may
have in spelling and grammar and work at improving them
before the exam.
